Baysix Automation
Marengo, Illinois

Engineering Technician : 1992 - 2000
Baysix Automation , a branch company of Hauschildt Industries , provided customers with both on-site and remote start-up assistance and troubleshooting support primarily for, but not limited to, large scale plating line, and automatic storage and retrieval systems. Duties included panel building, PLC programming, SBC programming, operator interface development, electrical troubleshooting, and set-up for VFD/DC motor controls, positioning systems, cranes, shuttles, rectifiers, and data acquisition and control of levels, temperatures, and dosing pumps. While working for Baysix, I also designed, specified and purchased parts, built, programmed, tested and installed both new and retrofit control panels. The diverse customer base included mining operations, city sewer and water works, foundries, steel mills, tool and die shops, and both large and small manufacturing concerns. The broad scope of participation in these projects afforded considerable experience in problem solving, customer relations and project management.

I worked for Baysix Electronics as an Engineering Technician for over eight years, concurrent with my employment at Hauschildt Industries. Both companies were owned by my brother Tom and his wife Doreen. The businesses were liquidated after their deaths in an aviation accident.

Control Room

3 Dimensional layout for the I/O additions to an automated plater.

Designed and rendered by Kelly Torrance, using TurboCAD V10.2

I am familiar with both schematic and diagram forms of electrical blueprints and have worked with ANVIL and TurboCAD.. I have developed many drawings using TurboCAD that have been shared with AutoCAD designers, but have only a cursory familiarity with AutoDesk products. For the past 7 years I have worked almost exclusively with TurboCAD and am currently using version 11.1 for 2D schematics and 3D design.

.
