Metal working : Working in both heavy industry and the panel shop, the skills of welding, cutting, grinding, punching, drilling, tapping and threading various metals were mandatory. The majority of the welding that I've done has been with an AC stick welder using mild steel electrodes although I have also used stainless steel. I am adept at using plasma torches, oxy-acetylene torches, band saws, drill presses, benders, brakes, punches, belt sanders, etc.

Computer programmer / user : In addition to ladder logic, I have developed serial communication device drivers, wet-well level controls, conveyor sequencers, energy management and security systems utilizing several flavors of the BASIC programming language. I have advanced knowledge of  DOS and Windows based computers and am currently using a Windows XP-based computer, one of many that I have built myself.  I have advanced skills as a CAD operator using TurboCAD as my primary design tool. I am also familiar with and regularly use MS Word and  Excell, as well as  many other graphics, text, and programming packages. I also use the internet frequently and am proficient in the use of the web for the purpose of research.  I have years of experience upgrading, repairing and maintaining computer software and hardware.
